One of the duties of both the maid of honor and the best man is to give a speech on behalf of the couple. The last part of ceremony is the toast. Guests should be served champagne before the toasts begin. This type of ceremony can be spread throughout the reception or can be completed all at once during the meal. To start a toast the speaker should ask the guests to raise their glass and close the speech with a few statements of happy thoughts for the future and "cheers".

It is always special to involve children in a wedding. More and more couples today are allowing children to attend weddings.
